40 Great Nail Art Ideas - Pale Blue Base with Chevrons

We are now on week 14 of the 52 week 40 Great Nail Art Idea's Challenge.

This week the prompt is Pale Blue Base - and the added extra personal pattern prompt - Chevrons.

This is what I have come up with.  I painted all my nails with CG (two coats) for the ring and middle fingers I used cut out sticky back plastic in chevron shapes (I don't own any vinyl stickers :( ), and painted on the darker blue.  For the other nails I free hand painted the tips in a chevron french.  The result....

40 Great Nail Art Ideas - New Year

We are now on week thirteen of the 52 week 40 Great Nail Art Idea's Challenge.

This week the prompt is New Year.  Something girly and blingy.  Not quite the image I had in my head, but this is how it turned out.  I wanted a lighter pink, and in the bottle this pink looked a light shade but once on it dried a little darker.

Nonetheless, I am happy with this manicure.

Happy New Year 2016 everyone. x

GOT Polish Challenge - Week 7 - Chevrons

Week 7 of the (Golden Oldie Thursday) GOT Polish challenge over at Crumpet's Nail Tarts. This week the theme is Chevrons.
Now, I was confused as to what a chevron was.  I have seen a lot of manicures with the "v"shape (which I thought was a chevron), but then again there are a lot of "/\/\/\/\/\/\" manicures also claiming to be chevron (I thought zig zag was the right term for this).

So I did a bit of investigating and googled the term chevron and most descriptions stated " ..a V-shaped line or stripe, especially one on the sleeve of a uniform indicating rank or length of service." Check it out here (chevron) and here (zig zag).

I also came across this great post which put my mind to rest and yes I too shouted out loud!

OK rant over.

First I change the shape of my nails again this week.  Made them more "pointy" not sure if they are almond or stiletto?

I also made my own decals for this challenge. I cut this into chevrons and used in my manicure.

My first oldie polish used is the black in this decal.  It is Black by Honeypot Cosmetics.

My other oldie is the red by Barry M.  I have had it ages and I have never used it. So here it is in all its glory.

Items used:
OPI Nail Envy
Barry M Gelly - Blood Orange
Sally Hansen - Ion (pinky and for the decal base)
Striping Tape
Seche Vite

Extra Relaxed 31 Day Challenge - Day 4 - GREEN

Day 4 (week 4) of the ER31DC and I am a week late.  I have been pretty ill with a viral infection which put me out for 2 weeks!!  But here is my green entry.  It looks almost gradient here and IRL.  But I painted on NI SD just on the tips (the lighter green), taped off the chevrons and painted on the darker emerald shade of DSM from LA Girl Metal collection.  The photos look more blue than green but I assure you they are green.
Items Used:
OPI Nail Envy
LA Girl Metal - Deep Sea Mica
Nails Inc - Seven Dials
