Orange Manicure - Update

I did this manicure earlier in the week and decided to update it a little.

I have loads of craft scissors (I did a lot of card making up until about a year ago - then I started my job and no more time :o( ). Anyway I used these scissors on normal address labels but they did not cut too well and also they stuck on the nail and took polish off as well. But then, as I was surfing my blogs I came across this by Dollface.
Here in the UK we call it "sticky back plastic" and it comes in a roll. I had loads and thought I would give it a try. And guess what? It works a treat. It stuck to the nail easily but the best thing, it peeled off perfectly without leaving any tacky glue behind. To contrast the Organe, I used China Glaze - Blue Sparrow (neon).

Misa - Style Street

Saturday 5 June 2010

This is one of my new polishes from my VenusNailSupply haul. It is Misa - Street Style.

I wore it last week. It was lovely to apply. I think it is meant to be a sheer colour, but I applied rather thickly to get an opaque finish. This is two coats.

It is lovely grey shimmer in one respect and then if you look from a different angle it is a lovely pink/purple colour. This manicure is a bit worse for wear! I spent an hour or so sowing my Sunflower seeds! But nonetheless this is a lovely.

Orange Comparison

I have Loads of Oranges, I love this colour on nails.

I thought I would pick the ones that looked similar and these are the ones, in the bottle, that looked alike.
I have painted each colour on one nail each and as you can just see, that Don't socra-tease me is a shimmery colour and much deeper. The ones on the index and middle finger are the two that look quite alike. The ring finger, CG, is much lighter and not so bright, and the little finger is different all together.
The application for all was good, although the CG was a little runny so could have done with 3 coats (I applied 2 coats on all nails). I loved these colours on and can't wait to do a proper manicure with each one.

England World Cup Manicure

We had another mufty day at school today. The theme was Football kits or country colours to go with the Football World Cup starting today.

I of course had to do England. I went in wearing my red jeans and red top with a white cardigan and white pumps. I also did a matching manicure.

My "not often seen" Right hand
I used OPI All the Berry Best (red) and OPI Alpine Snow (white).

Naked Nails for a Day

Sunday 23 May.
As you may have read, last week when I wore the Gosh Pink Rose shade, the kids at school did not believe that they were my own nails. To prove to them, I went in with ..... yes..... NAKED NAILS. Well almost, I had my nail envy on.

<.......Left hand not so good.

Right hand looking good........>

But Monday evening they had to be dressed. I had a few weeks earlier got my Nail polish and stuff haul from TransDesign. And amongst the haul was my long sought after OPI Greenwich Village. My daughter chose this to be the colour for the week.

Nice application ofcourse, not a colour I normally wear but I just had to have it, it really reminds me of summer, lush green grass, oh and hayfever. Can't win them all.
