40 Great Nail Art Ideas - Books

Week 49 of the 52 week 40 Great Nail Art Idea's Challenge.

Three  more weeks to go ......

Challenge this week is Books.

I used to read a lot, but haven't read anything for a while.  The last book I completed was the BFG and this was reading to my son at bedtime about one to two years ago.  We started Danny, the Champion of the World, but never finished it.

Anyway, I was stuck for inspiration, so I opened up Amazon, the page loaded and the first thing I saw was the book I've taken inspiration from.  I just like the colours and the flowers.  I thought I would be able to capture this image quite easily.  Overall I am really pleased how this manicure turned out (unlike last week!).

I did the nail art using the pink PIA lacquer and white and green acrylic paint.  I also used Orly Dazzle on my pinkie.

So without further a do...

Inspired by this book cover.

40 Great Nail Art Ideas - Music

Week 33 of the 52 week 40 Great Nail Art Idea's Challenge.

This week the prompt is Music.

I was going to take my favourite easy way out (water decals) but decided against it.

Instead I went searching for album covers that I could easily re-create.

My end result is this manicure:

This is my recreation of the album Release by the Pet Shop Boys.
I used just black and white acrylic paints to freehand this straight onto my nail.  Although I did do another one onto a stamper which I preferred but I had a little difficulty getting it off the stamp, so I used that on my right ring finger.
The rest of the manicure is a darker shade of grey as is the back of the album.

40 Great Nail Art Ideas - Fashion

Week 21 of the 52 week 40 Great Nail Art Idea's Challenge.

A week Late, but the prompt this week was Fashion.

I have been re-decorating my son's bedroom and I took inspiration from the new curtains in his room.

Grey, Blue and Glitter - 30 September 2015

Two Essie colours here, I loved this on, so elegant.  The blue accent nail is a textured one coater, I applied a coat of SV to smooth it out.

Butterflies On A Cloud - 1 September 2015

September catch up ....
Well it was back to school this week and this is what I had on on the first day back.

Still on a catch-up - Hazy Flowers - 31 May 2015

Hi all,  I am still trying very hard to catch up on my blog regards all my manicures that I have done this year.

I started a new nail art challenge back in October and I have been blogging about that instead.

I did however manage to get as far as 21 May of this year here.

The next nail art I did I've already blogged about way back in May and you can see that here.

So onto the next one..... The last one for May 2015

A lovely delicate grey with a full self adhesive nail sticker on the accent nail.

For the main manicure I used Hazy by Revlon.  For the ring accent I used a base of Nails Inc Elizabeth Street, a very pale nude pink, on top of which, when dry, I applied the Nail sticker (bought from AliExpress). Top coat of SV and voila.

40 Great Nail Art Ideas - Grey + Colour - Brush Stroke

We are now on week eight of the 52 week 40 Great Nail Art Idea's Challenge.

This week the prompt is 'Grey + Colour' and there is an individual pattern prompt for everyone, mine this week is brush stroke.

When I read this, my personal interpretation was that we had to use grey as a base and then add one colour.

So, as my pattern prompt was brush stroke, I did a grey base and used the 'colour' part in my brush stroke.

A simple but IMO quite an effective manicure.

40 Great Nail Art Ideas - Hobbies

OK, so I have joined the New Crumpets Nail Tarts group and will be taking part in the "40 Great Nail Art Ideas" challenge.

It sounded quite complicated, but I think I have got the gist of it. It is to run over 52 weeks and it is split into two bits. The first is themed and the second is colour/pattern.

The first challenge is Hobbies.

I am a day late as I only joined yesterday so mine is a bit rushed.  I did this manicure over what I am already wearing.

Apart from nail art and nail polish one of my other hobbies is sewing.  So I made some home made decals using clear polish and tracing over some pictures with a sharpie, and voila.

Items used:
OPI Nail Evny
Essie - Pedal Pushers - Grey
Essie - Lux - Glitter
Home made sewing decals
Seche Vite

SIMPLES - Week 3 - Ombre

SIMPLES: Nail Art from Muggle to Mastery - Week 3 is Ombre week.

Oooh, this is so controversial.  What is an ombre?  I have googled it and all the images that come up are showing what I call a 'gradient' nail - where you use two or more colours and they gently fade into each other like these that I have done, not an ombre where you use one base colour and it fades from either dark to light on each finger nail, for example like these.

What is your interpretation?

Here is my Ombre - black fading to white.

Items used:
OPI Nail Envy
Nails Inc - Black Taxi, Berkeley Square, The Thames
Barielle - U-Concrete-me
China Glaze - Snow
