Silver 'Diamond' Record

Sorry for being awol for a few weeks.  Been busy with work and also had really bad hayfever which is only just not under control.

Anyway I have some manicures to share with you that I have worn over the last few weeks.

This first one was a gem to do.... get it!  anyway I really like how this turned out.  Inspired by this look.  Hope you like my version with silver.

This manicure I did on the 6th of March.  I think the title is quite appropriate.  This looked easy to do but by the time I had done my right hand I was bored and was contemplating whether to just take it all off and paint one colour or carry on......
I carried on and about an hour, yes an hour or so later the manicure was done.  I was quite pleased with the effect.  
Next evening I went to my Zumba class and my nails were the talk of the class.  Everyone wanted to know where I got them done, and the ladies were all surprised when I told them that I did them, all by myself.  But next time I think I will just do an accent nail!

For this manicure I used:

I would also like to add that I got this idea from this amazing blog.  So thank you Camille.  I think in retrospect if I were to do this again I would choose colours like Camille that fade into each other rather than randomly placed like I did here.

Mid week I re-did my manicure.  I used my newly hauled Color Club Pure Energy.  For the ring finger I used a glitter by LA Colors - Aqua Crystals.

 

 

The next day for something a little different I put on some navy stripes.  Inspiration from here.

 ... I wore this Tuesday and a day or so later I added some nail art using my sticky back plastic, Sinful color Black on Black and a dotting tool.

China Glaze - WWW.....

  ... Who's Wearing What by China Glaze, a lovely dusky mauve colour.  I put this on on Sunday night and it is two coats but I think I should have applied three coats.  But even so it is a lovely shade and fairly opaque.

A Pink Shatter?

I am sorry for being AWOL for a few weeks but I was not well and then had so much to catch up with at home I just did not get to update my blog.
But I still managed to paint my nails and I will share with you in the next few days what I wore.
My first installment is this lovely pink manicure.  I used ASOS Paint - Paris for the nail base and I am afraid I can't remember which OPI pink I used to stamp on my nails!  The BM plate used was BM208 and for the accent nail a few gems (which I don't think really worked, but hey ho).

A few days later I jazzed up the manicure using my sticky back plastic tape and some black polish.  The result was quite striking.

Red, White and Blue

Well my daughter did her nails again this weekend and she wanted OTT and boy did she do it!

She had wanted to do a nautical theme manicure but went right off tangent and came up with the following idea as you will see in her photo's. The base colour is OPI Alpine Snow and I did the red stripes with OPI Red for her using my sticky back plastic cut into thin strips.  She put on the blue heart gems at the end and she did her OTT ring finger nails with me filling in the missing beads.  Lots of SV over the ring finger also.

Grey Thames!

Well after wearing the gorgeous blue Lauren by ASOS Paints for quite a number of days, I needed a change.  I opted for this lovely dark creme grey by Nails Inc called The Thames.  I was only going to wear this for a day so cheated and only put on one thick layer over my Nail Envy, topped off by SV and voila.  Not bad coverage at all.

As my outfit for the day I had a yellow blouse on, I did a bit of sticky back nail art using OPI Banana Bandana..  It looked much more effective IRL.

OPI - Shorts Story

This is another one of my hundreds of un-worn lacquers!  I don't know why, perhaps because I keep buying new ones!  But I thought after my black nails I needed a bit of a lift, especially as the weather has been so nice.  So this is Shorts Story from the OPI Bright Pair Collection. It is a bright and vibrant creme colour.  It is opaque in two coats which is a must especially when applying lying in bed and with only a side bed light on!  Still not bad, but I won't apply like that again as I smudged two of my nails!  But oh, what a lovely colour.  I have also just noticed how my nails have grown in just two weeks, wow.  Must be the lovely sunshine we are getting at the moment.

For a bit of fun, using my sticky back plastic and my lovely black nail polish by Honeypot Cosmetics, I applied a little nail art on my ring finger. 

Love Nails - Sinful

A manicure worn at the beginning of last week.  I would say this is a close dupe for OPI Sea? I Told You as worn here?  This is Love Nails by Sinful Colors @ only two coats, I think with three coats it would be damn close.  Any way like said two coats here and you can still see VNL.  But I don't mind, as this was lovely and shimmery.  I accented my ring finger a day later with my Sticky Back Plastic and some black polish, did not have time to do all nails.

Banana Puddin'

I wore this for the weekend just gone.  I got this after having seen this shade on the beautiful blog by Erika here.  It looked just so sunny and summery, I had to have it.  However, I was a bit disappointed that it was not quite as bright as I thought I would be.  None-the-less I still love it.  So no loss there.  Here it is in all its glory.  I would certainly say this is as close to true colour.  I hope you like it too.

Then a day later it got a little jazzed up.  I used strips of sticky back plastic and put them on at different angles on each nail, and to be honest I am so very pleased with this design.

Catch Up Time.... Update on Rumple's Wiggin'

 ....... Internet has been back but been trying to catch up with other stuff so nails and blogging has sadly been ignored.  But I am back and would like to show what I wore over the last two weeks or so.

My last manicure, I absolutely loved, but I jazzed it up a little bit more, using my sticky back plastic.  This is the result.... for the stripes I used an OPI shade, but I can't remember the name!

Orange Manicure - Update

I did this manicure earlier in the week and decided to update it a little.

I have loads of craft scissors (I did a lot of card making up until about a year ago - then I started my job and no more time :o( ). Anyway I used these scissors on normal address labels but they did not cut too well and also they stuck on the nail and took polish off as well. But then, as I was surfing my blogs I came across this by Dollface.
Here in the UK we call it "sticky back plastic" and it comes in a roll. I had loads and thought I would give it a try. And guess what? It works a treat. It stuck to the nail easily but the best thing, it peeled off perfectly without leaving any tacky glue behind. To contrast the Organe, I used China Glaze - Blue Sparrow (neon).
