B-Girlz it is Pink and Untried

I was going through my list of polish/lacquer last week and to my utter amazement (not!) I have SO many untrieds.  So therefore I am making it my mission to wear only those polishes/lacquers that are new and untried.
So obviously it called for a manicure change again this week.  This is the GORGEOUS B-Girlz by China Glaze. This is a lovely shimmery shade which is almost opaque in two coats followed a top coat of SV.   My natural nail at the tips is quite white/ish opaque anyway that no matter if I did put on three coats you would still see VNL.  So I stick with two coats.  Loving my nails but looking at these photos my cuticles need a serious seeing to!

Love Nails - Sinful

A manicure worn at the beginning of last week.  I would say this is a close dupe for OPI Sea? I Told You as worn here?  This is Love Nails by Sinful Colors @ only two coats, I think with three coats it would be damn close.  Any way like said two coats here and you can still see VNL.  But I don't mind, as this was lovely and shimmery.  I accented my ring finger a day later with my Sticky Back Plastic and some black polish, did not have time to do all nails.

Espresso Myself!

OK, I saw this earlier on Chloe's post here, how amazing are her maincures.  Anyway I had a similar colour on so thought would have a go at the stamping too as I had the same BM plate.  For my stamping though I used OPI Espresso Your Style.  A deep shimmery brown shade.  My stamping is not as good and it does not do the colour any justice at all.  But it will have to do and I will just have to practice stamping a bit more.

Oh My Poor Nails!

As you may have read, my nails have not been well!  They have been peeling and splitting.  I have been taping them up with silicone wraps but a few days later I have to re-do them.  I got totally fed up yesterday and took to the nail clippers and ........  Yep, I cut them back.  They are just so short now, I hate it.

But to cheer myself up I put on a dark shade.  I bought this from Superdrug a few months back and this is it's first wearing.  It is a brand called FAMOUS by Sue Moxley.  This is a suede effect shade (labeled suedefx on the bottle).  Unfortunately it does not have a name only a number, and this is No. 25, a gorgeous deep purple with lots of silver shimmer running through it.

There is a little tipware, but this is after a busy day cooking at school baking dinosaur cookies with our class! So lots of clearing/cleaning up after!.

Anyway I like it, do you?
IRL colour is just a tad darker

An old Lilac Favourite

Hi again, this weekend I changed my manicure and went for this old favourite of mine.  A beautiful lilac with a hint of pink and a slight shimmer.  It is Shangri-la-la Lilac by OPI.  I have had this colour for several years now and it is in tip-top condition still.  This is two coats over OPI Nail Envy, and with a top coat of Seche Vite.  I had to still apply patches on several tips as they are still splitting and peeling :o(.

ADMIRE this!

My manicure last week was this lovely shimmer by China Glaze.  It is the most gorgeous pink shimmer, not a colour I wear often, but since I had it, it had to be worn.  This is two coats over my OPI Nail Envy and top coated with OPI top coat this time.  But as mentioned in my last post my nails are awful at the moment, peeling and splitting.  I have put some patches on the ends to try and hold out the moisture.  You can see them on most nails!!  Just going to wait for them to grow out a little bit more and then I think I will have to cut them back.

If anyone has any tips as to how to stop this happening please comment.

Natural, without flash
Two days later, I got bored.  I had seen this effect done by Chloe on her blog using scotch tape.  I did not have scotch tape but have done something similar using sticky back plastic (the stuff you use to cover the kids school books with!).  So I took my scissors to it and cut out a jagged design and this is what I came up with.....

:o( Cut Down!! :o(

I guess with the bad weather my nails have not been in too good a condition.  Mind you I have not looked after them as much as I could/should have!  It is cold here and the central heating is nearly always on so my nails have been suffering.  Lack of hand and cuticle moisturising has had a bad effect. My nails have been breaking at the most awkward of places and I have been using silicone paper and glue for about a month on and off on a few nails........
But enough was enough and I took to the clippers, yes the clippers and cut down my nails yesterday. :o(

So I felt quite sad and did not want too much colour and so I went for this pale old beauty of mine.  OPI Abalone Shell, a lovely sheer white with a purple shimmer to it.  Now I must look after my nails and start cuticle nourishing again.

2011 - My First Manicure of the Year

My New Year Eve Manicure lasted a very long time.  I was surprised that the jewels did not drop off, what with back to work and lots of washing dishes!! But enough was enough and I changed my manicure last night.
I have gone for this gorgeous, dark, seductive colour by Nails Inc - Crown Court.  It is lovely deep plum shade with a slight red shimmer running through it.  Lovely this time of year, or any other time really

Taken indoors with flash, you can see the slight shimmer
Taken outdoors, natural, oh dear excuse the dry skin, need to moisturise!

GOSH - Purple Heart

After having worn Sinful - Sharon's Heart for a few days, I fancied a change.....
....... I therefore went for another colour I have had for a while and not worn as yet, Purple Heart by GOSH. This is a lovely colour with purple and green shimmer running through it. It is quite decieving, in a good way. In certain light it looks quite black and then just a slight movement, and it changes. I loved this colour. This is two coats with seche top coat. See the Shine? Almost like water.Tip wear though, from one day at work! Using small white boards and pens, handling loads of paper etc, working in a classroom does have its downfalls. But hey ho, I still love this colour.

Sinful Colors - Sharon's Heart

For my first manicure of the this week, I chose Sharon's Heart by Sinful colors. It must be an older shade as the formula on this was quite thick, not a problem as it was opaque in 2 coats. I suppose if I had applied slightly thicker the first coat, that would have sufficed. Any hoot, this is a lovely burnt orange shade with a gold shimmer shot through it. This is just right for the horrid grey wet weather we are having at the moment.

Sinful - What's Your Name?

Another Manicure from about a week or so ago. See my shortened nails! But it is ok they are growing again :o) Anyway, this is from my small nail lacquer haul in September from Cherry Culture. This is a most beautiful black with blue/green glittery shimmer running through it. Love it! What about you?

OPI - Purple with a Purpose

This is OPI - Purple with a Purpose. A gorgeous colour and I love it, shame my camera did not capture the colour correctly??Taken with my Pentax Optio camera, that I use for my nail photography, the colour does not come out as is?? What do I have to change on settings to make it right? These two photo's were taken with my mini-corder and the colour is as true to life as can be.

Misa - Style Street

Saturday 5 June 2010

This is one of my new polishes from my VenusNailSupply haul. It is Misa - Street Style.

I wore it last week. It was lovely to apply. I think it is meant to be a sheer colour, but I applied rather thickly to get an opaque finish. This is two coats.

It is lovely grey shimmer in one respect and then if you look from a different angle it is a lovely pink/purple colour. This manicure is a bit worse for wear! I spent an hour or so sowing my Sunflower seeds! But nonetheless this is a lovely.

Avon Change Artist Colour

NOTW on 18 April 2010.

This manicure was done using Avon Change Artist Colour.

I used the Shimmering Red/Clear polishes from Avon. The purpose of this duo is that you put on the main nail colour (in this case the red) and then you paint over a pattern like a nail tip, diagonal stripe etc. with the clear polish. This is then supposed to change the colour.

It is not very noticeable at all???

Can you tell?

It is a nice enough colour, it was quite easy to apply and the colour has real depth to it. I am sure I have OPI's and Zoya polishes that are quite similar though. Sorry about the lack of clean up, I am getting better at it now before taking photos.
