Week 7 of the (Golden Oldie Thursday) GOT Polish challenge over at Crumpet's Nail Tarts. This week the theme is Chevrons.
Now, I was confused as to what a chevron was. I have seen a lot of manicures with the "v"shape (which I thought was a chevron), but then again there are a lot of "/\/\/\/\/\/\"
manicures also claiming to be chevron
(I thought zig zag was the right term for this).
So I did a bit of investigating and googled the term chevron and most descriptions stated " ..a V-shaped line or stripe, especially one on the sleeve of a uniform indicating rank or length of service." Check it out
here (chevron) and
here (zig zag).
I also came across
this great post which put my mind to rest and yes I too shouted out loud!
OK rant over.
First I change the shape of my nails again this week. Made them more "pointy" not sure if they are almond or stiletto?
I also made my own decals for this challenge. I cut this into chevrons and used in my manicure.
My first oldie polish used is the black in this decal. It is Black by Honeypot Cosmetics.
My other oldie is the red by Barry M. I have had it ages and I have never used it. So here it is in all its glory.
Items used:
OPI Nail Envy
Barry M Gelly - Blood Orange
Sally Hansen - Ion (pinky and for the decal base)
Striping Tape
Seche Vite
