40 Great Nail Art Ideas - Orange, Purple and Green - Accent Nail

40 Great Nail Art Ideas - Orange, Purple and Green - Accent Nail

This week (week four) the prompt is a colour prompt and a pattern, my pattern being Accent Nail.

I used purple for all my nails and the colour prompt on my accent nail only.  For the accent nail I used an orange for the base and then used two feathers purple and green to add on top.

This is what I came up with:

Feather Nail Art

Mid year I got myself some feathers.  I had been looking to do this manicure for ages.  Finally in September I got round to it!  For the main manicure I used the beautiful Nothing but Truffle by Color Club, two coats here and doesn't it look stunning?  For the ring accent nail I used a feather to compliment NBT.  I loved having this on and wore it a whole week!

Summer Feathers and a Gradient

A late summer manicure.  Lovely bright colours and a touch of a feather.  Apologies for the broken nail (see index finger).  But a lovely manicure to brighten me up.
Added feathers using black and white acrylic paint.
I did this gradient with a sponge and used China Glaze and LA Girl. Topped it all off with a coat of Seche Vite.

Tickled Peach!

A few days of wearing my gorgeous (imo) purple french manicure I took it off to do this one.  I just got the urge to change!  This took all of about 15/20 minutes to do.  I used acrylic paint for all of it, and top coat to seal and finish.  In my opinion though I think it could have done with two coats of TC. I think the acrylic paint almost seemed to soak up the top coat, therefore note for next time, two coats of top coat.
This manicure also tied in well with Thursday 23 May, as it was Peter Pan dress up day at school.  We were raising money for GOSH as one of our students has been there since December, I went as Tiger Lily!

I used acrylic paint, straight onto the sponge and onto the nail, painted on the feathers, black tip using my new Fragrance Direct purchase W7- Black, top coat and they you go..... (BTW this is my version of this manicure I saw ages ago).

Tickle me with a Feather! and Black or White?

First of all these pics are taken again with my new camera which I still cannot master, but I must use it! These photos were taken by a window in natural light indoors in a light background.  My skin tone is a little lighter but the lacquer colour is correct.

I am also posting some photos taken about two hours later (4.30pm GMT London).  In the same place but with a black background. I know there is a natural light difference so I will do this experiment again and see which I prefer or you as a reader.  I still need to play around with the focus and light and everything else, but what do you think? White background or black background?

Now to the manicure......

I have seen a lot of feather nail art and I was inspired by loads.  I can't possibly name you all, but if you have done feather nail art I owe you this inspiration.  My favourite is the ring finger.  I have also re-shaped my nails back to square.  I did not have the courage to file them all one length to match the short middle finger, it will have to catch up and then I will get them all the same.

These first three photos are taken in the pale background of my window.
The following are taken with a black background, same place but about 2 hours later.
