I have been re-decorating my son's bedroom and I took inspiration from the new curtains in his room.

40 Great Nail Art Ideas - Geeks

Week three this week of the 40 Great Nail Art Ideas.

This week the prompt is Geeks.

I thought long and hard about this.  I researched the term Geek and it all seemed to aim at some sort of computer related thing. But I sought advice from my DH and youngest son, who both agreed but also stated that if you are obsessed with anything in particular, you would be a geek.  They also informed me that I would be a nail polish geek, as I have so many and yet still buy more, and am always doing my nails etc etc.

But in the end I opted for my nails as shown below for a particular reason.  I think my two boys are gaming geeks.  We have various gaming devices at home, Wi, X Box, game boy, etc. But the original would be the Play Station which we still have and have gone full circle when my youngest got the PS4 in the summer.

So I did a little homage manicure to suit. Not the best but this is my GEEK prompt manicure.

 

 

 

 

I used Beauty UK Black Out for the base for all nails and Ciate - Lily (Green), Paris (Pink), Lauren (Blue), Nails Inc - Tate (Red) and OPI Alpine Snow for the nail art. Top coat is Seche Vite.

Negative Space and Decals

Right I have updated my blog to July 2014.
I did do my nails in September, but, I don't know what happened to all the photos :(  I am sure I took them, I just can't find any.

So I am straight into October.

Here sporting very quickly done negative space nails topped off with some nail decals. Can't remember the polish used either!  But looking at them I think it may have been ASOS Ciate Paint - Lauren - blue. I tend to use this one a lot.

Not really happy with these but posting anyway.

Pink and Blue Diagonal French

A manicure worn way back in October 2013.  Just posting because I have taken the photos and edited them.  When my nails weren't breaking, chipping and peeling left right and centre :(

Extra Relaxed 31 Day Challenge - Day 12 - Stripes

I recycled the holographic nails done here, put on some stripes and hey presto a new manicure.

3 October 1/7 - Pink and Blue Leopard Print

This is 1 of 7 manicures worn in October.  As I said in my 7/7 September post, one nail starts to grow and another peels/splits/breaks, can you see?  Oh well at least my cuticles are improving a little.

Blue Bling

After my last one stroke manicure which only lasted about 2-3 days I decided to go a bit plain.  But to jazz it up a little I used a blingy glitter for the ring finger.

I used:
Asos Ciate - Lauren for the base for all nails
Color Club - Sexy Siren for the bling on the ring finger
SV top coat

Dotty Check Pattern

More nail art on my nails for this week.  I saw this originally on a white base with black dots and it looked awesome.  But I wanted a different slant on it so went pink.  I used OPI Japanese Rose Garden for the base and then used Victoria by ASOS Ciate Pots for the dots.  Topped off with a generous layer of Seche Vite.
I am quite pleased with the effect.

A Pink Shatter?

I am sorry for being AWOL for a few weeks but I was not well and then had so much to catch up with at home I just did not get to update my blog.
But I still managed to paint my nails and I will share with you in the next few days what I wore.
My first installment is this lovely pink manicure.  I used ASOS Paint - Paris for the nail base and I am afraid I can't remember which OPI pink I used to stamp on my nails!  The BM plate used was BM208 and for the accent nail a few gems (which I don't think really worked, but hey ho).

A few days later I jazzed up the manicure using my sticky back plastic tape and some black polish.  The result was quite striking.

Red Gradient Sponge and Flowers

Other than doing my daughters nails or my own I have never done anyone else's.  This is the first manicure I have done on someone else.  I had shown her my green sponge manicure a few days ago and she loved it. So I asked her to come over on Friday and I did her nails.  Again not fantastic photos but IRL the nails looked good.  I used ASOS Paints Blake for the cuticle area, OPI Red for the mid section and China Glaze Thunderbird for the tips, I used some Nail stickers to finish the look she wanted.  Topped off with SV for a shiny finish.

I was going to take off this manicure, so thought I would have a little play with my sticky back plastic, this is what I did!

My favourite has to be the pinky finger and then the spots (spots done using a pencil and a safety pin).

Goodness, whatever happened to blogger?  All my posts have been mucked up!
I had this ready and it just did not get posted at the scheduled time.  So am having to re-do it again! Never mind, here it is now. After my Rrrrwwww! nails (I only had them on for two days, I got bored!) I chose this gorgeous blue  by ASOS Paints called Lauren.  This is two coats and that is all you need to get a good opaque coverage, beautiful.  To get a shiny finish SV of course.  I got many compliments on this colour and I have to say I liked it on my short nails.  This lasted from Friday 13th! through to Monday 16th May.  I could have left it on longer as it had no chips or tip wear! But you know, I needed to change! I will show you tomorrow what I wore today.

Half Moon Manicure

My manicure after my disastrous green patchwork one, is IMO much more subtle and I think more elegant.
My Manicure is inspired by Ditta Von Teese.  In my version I used a grey lacquer by ASOS Paint by ciate called Kate, paper ring reinforcements for the moon shape and Double Platinum (Rockstar collection ) by LA Girl to fill in the moon shape. To top it off a coat of Seche Vite.

Victoria - ASOS Paints by Ciate

Sorry for not being on for a while.  Busy with work and kids etc....

But I would like to share a manicure I had on about two weeks ago.  After having to cut down my nails, I wanted to cheer up and put on my dark colours again.  So I opted for another never worn colour, Victoria by ASOS Paints.  This was a lovely dark plum/vampy shade, opaque in two coats and application was ok.  Sorry for messy cuticles.

Colour was lovely, but my nails seems to be in a bad shape at the moment.  They are splitting and peeling.  I know it is my fault, I have been very lazy in not applying cuticle oil over the past few weeks.  Having the central heating on all the time is not helping, but I am not going to freeze.
