This is week five of the 40 Great Nail Art Ideas challenge
This week as the title suggests, it is Halloween nails.
I did some "zombiefied" nails but they were a big fail. They looked ok IRL but in photo's not so good. So I re-did them. I did a simple 3 colour gradient using pale lilac, purple and black and then hand drew some spooky trees and bats with acrylic paint.
Items used:
Nail Envy base coat
Elf - Lilac
Nails Inc - Wigmore Street
PIA - Black
Sponge
Black Acrylic paint

40 Great Nail Art Ideas - Orange, Purple and Green - Accent Nail Part 2
Well as you see in the title this is part two! I was happy enough with the accent nail I did for 40 great nail art ideas challenge but not enough, so I did another one. :)
If you read my last post you will know that the colour prompt (as in the title above) is orange, purple and green for everyone, then we all have a different pattern prompt, mine is accent nail.
This is what I did the second time:
I just painted the ring finger with the orange polish, painted a strip of purple in the middle, added a few drops of green and swirled with a fine dotting tool.
Its looks out of focus, but this is how it looks IRL. I really like the effect.

40 Great Nail Art Ideas - Orange, Purple and Green - Accent Nail
This week (week four) the prompt is a colour prompt and a pattern, my pattern being Accent Nail.
I used purple for all my nails and the colour prompt on my accent nail only. For the accent nail I used an orange for the base and then used two feathers purple and green to add on top.
This is what I came up with:

40 Great Nail Art Ideas - Geeks
Week three this week of the 40 Great Nail Art Ideas.
This week the prompt is Geeks.
I thought long and hard about this. I researched the term Geek and it all seemed to aim at some sort of computer related thing. But I sought advice from my DH and youngest son, who both agreed but also stated that if you are obsessed with anything in particular, you would be a geek. They also informed me that I would be a nail polish geek, as I have so many and yet still buy more, and am always doing my nails etc etc.
But in the end I opted for my nails as shown below for a particular reason. I think my two boys are gaming geeks. We have various gaming devices at home, Wi, X Box, game boy, etc. But the original would be the Play Station which we still have and have gone full circle when my youngest got the PS4 in the summer.
So I did a little homage manicure to suit. Not the best but this is my GEEK prompt manicure.
I used Beauty UK Black Out for the base for all nails and Ciate - Lily (Green), Paris (Pink), Lauren (Blue), Nails Inc - Tate (Red) and OPI Alpine Snow for the nail art. Top coat is Seche Vite.
Check out via the Inlikz below what all the other participants did.

Black Onyx Glitter Skittlette - 2 March 2015
I'd seen this on IG, I am sorry I don't remember who did the original. I liked it so much I tried to replicate it. I did not have the original photo to hand, just did it as I thought it looked. It turned out ok. You can't go too wrong with black and or glitter, can you?

40 Great Nail Art Ideas - Teal - Zig Zags
2nd week of this great challenge.
Last week mine was a very last minute entry. This week I took a bit of time.
First off, I have shorter nails, they were getting too long and one or two had chips and splits, so I filed them down.
So on to the challenge, this week is a little complicated. We have a prompt, this week being teal. Then on top of that we are each given a different pattern number - and we have to incorporate that into the design. Mine is Zig Zags.
So I cut out my own zig zag stickers as I don't own any nail vinyls and I used these on the two accent fingers. For these two nails I used OPI Alpine Snow as the base and for the zig zag sponging I used Nails Inc Warwick Way, Electric Teal and OPI Ski Teal We Drop. I also used STWD for the other three nails.
As always I use OPI Nail Envy as my base coat and for a change for the top coat on this manicure I used HK Girl.

Sewing Project - Little Red Riding Hood Cape
I work in an infant school and our topic was Little Red Riding Hood. Children love to dress up and we didn't have anything for little Red.
I do like a good sewing challenge. So I took it upon myself to make, not one or two but 4 capes for Reception Year.
I found a great pattern online (I can't find the details at the moment, but when I do I will edit this post and add them). So easy to alter, cut and sew, my kind of project.

Sponged Decal Skittlette - 22 February 2015
Another water decal manicure. For the polished nails, I picked colours from the decal and dabbed onto a white base with a small washing up sponge to get this stippled effect. Added some round nail studs and voila.
