26 Great Nail Art Ideas - Christmas Preparations

5th manicure of the 26 Great Nail Art Idea's Challenge.

The challenge this week is Christmas Preparations.

I think of wrapping presents while it snows outside (not that it snows an awful lot here in the UK at this time of year).  But that is my theme for this challenge.

I used one coat of OPI and then on top a coat of the Color Club glitter.  For the ring finger I painted on a bow for the present and used the Milani glitter on the white.  For the index finger I used snowflake decals and voila...

GOT Polish Challenge Part 2 - Week 6 - Neon

Week 6 of the GOT2 (Golden Oldie Thursday) Polish challenge over at Crumpet's Nail Tarts. This week the theme is Neon.

I cheated a little.  I have had these well over one or even two years, I can't remember, so they are oldies, however they have not been used so a little cheating there.

Anyway here is my Neon manicure, a few days late.

Items used:
OPI Nail Envy
Milani - Totally 80's and Pink Rocks
LA Girl - Silver
Seche Vite top coat

Ikat fail and success

5 February 2013
I thought I would have a go at doing the Ikat design on my nails.  It looks so easy.  Even the several tutorials I saw on this pattern were so easy, surely I could do the pattern.
So I choose my two colours and painted my nails.  Even on their own they looked lovely, I should leave them.
But nope, I had to do the Ikat design, it is easy right? Wrong.  My design looked nothing like the design :o(   What a fail!!
So I took it all off and had another go, and hey presto I got it right.  I am not sure how I got the above design and then the proper Ikat design below, but I did and not bad for a second go.
Items Used:
OPI Nail Envy
Seche Vite
LA Girl Disco - Hustle
Milani - Bare to Wear
Acrylic Paint - Black and White

BFF - Striping Tape Challenge

Hello, this is the 3rd instalment of the BFF challenge.

This was my 1st pick - a manicure using striping tape.

I had a certain idea in my head and it looked better in there.  But once I finished it was nothing like I pictured it.  Having said that this was done after a good Zumba class, I sat in bed a t 9pm last night, took just over an hour to do, and the results:

Black Rose Nail Art

I have been trying to do this rose for ages.  But just could not get it right.  But I saw some tutorials on some Korean Nail blogs and they made it look so easy.  I already had the base colour from last week and since it was going to come off soon I thought I would give the rose a go.
I used some black acrylic paint from our craft box and a fine line brush, and if I do say so myself, it came out quite good.

MILANI - Bare to Wear

First of all you may notice my nails are much shorter than in my last post.  I just felt like shorter nails, and that is not very often, but I am glad I did cut and file them down as the manicure I am wearing really suits the shorter nail.
One of my "yet to be worn" today.  I bought the Milani Bare It All collection a while ago but as yet have not worn any of them.  I keep buying and have not got enough time to wear all of them!  So I took this one out and I am so pleased I did.  It is lovely "griege" colour, (one of my favourite shades, I have them in many makes!)  Sorry for the crappy pictures, but the weather is rather wet and grey here in the UK today.  This is two coats of Bare to Wear with a top coat of Seche Vite.

Grey Victoria Street in London Today!

My manicure (which I have had on since yesterday) I chose a shimmery grey by Nails Inc called Victoria Street.  And as the title suggests, that is exactly how the weather is here at the moment.  So to cheer the manicure up a little I also added some daisy flowers using the tip of a pencil.   Topped off with a coat of SV and it came up shining (unlike the weather lol).

Below is a photo of my haul I picked up from the Post Office after work yesterday.  I ordered this from Cherry Culture last week.  I have some make up items for myself and my daughter, but also some Milani, LA Girl and Sinful Color Nail Polish.  I got Milani 3D holographic and nude nail colours, a few other shades and the others were black nail polish.  A girl can never have enough black nail polish, right?

Cherry Culture Haul and My Special Milani Set.

A few weeks back CC has a 20% discount on everything.  I took advantage and got some polishes I had been saving for. Can you guess how many I got...... I am too embarrassed to say!

I also managed to get my hands on these lovely Milani specialty glitter nail lacquers.

Sorry about the photo quality but I just can't seem to photograph when natural light has gone and the house lights come on!  But if you want to see perfect pictures have a look here at Scrangie's post (thanks Scrangie).
