40 Great Nail Art Ideas - Earth Tones - Nude Base

The last manicure for this challenge! YAY I have managed to complete it.

Week 52 of the 52 week 40 Great Nail Art Idea's Challenge.

Challenge this week is Earth Tones and my personal pattern prompt of Nude Base

I can't believe a whole year has passed by.  Although this has been challenging at times, I am so proud and pleased to have taken part.  A big thanks goes to Debbie of Crumpets Tarts for organising this for us.

I did a saran wrap manicure with earth tone colours and for extra bling I added some studs.

40 Great Nail Art Ideas - Autumn - Saran Wrap

The penultimate manicure for this challenge!

Week 51 of the 52 week 40 Great Nail Art Idea's Challenge.

One  more weeks to go ......

Challenge this week is Autumn.

I did a saran wrap manicure with autumn colours.

I did a base of Elf Mango Madness to start with and then on top of that I added a coat of CG Fire love.  When this was dry, I painted on a coat of SH Haute Chocolate and with a rolled up piece of saran wrap, sponged off some of the colour to bring out the orange base.  On some nails this method took off too much top colour, so I went back and added the brown on the saran wrap and sponged it back on ... and voila.

Simple but effective.

40 Great Nail Art Ideas - Insects

Week 41 of the 52 week 40 Great Nail Art Idea's Challenge.

I am running 2 and a half weeks behind with this challenge.  I wore week 42 last week and I will post that asap.

But here is week 41 with the prompt - Insects.

I have been wanting to do this nail art for a very long time, just never got round to it.  So today with the intention of just painting my nails for the prompt, photographing etc I was going to take it off and get on with this weeks prompt.

But I liked it so much even though it was rushed, I decided to keep it on and even did my cinders hand.

Here is my insect manicure - the monarch butterfly.  I painted on the darker purple, let it dry a little then used cling film/saran wrap and patted it onto the darker colour.  With black acrylic paint I did the monarch design and white acrylic paint for the dots and to finish, a coat of SV and voila.

I am really impressed, I really like them on...

40 Great Nail Art Ideas - Three Shades of Green - Embellished/3D

Week 24 of the 52 week 40 Great Nail Art Idea's Challenge.

The challenge this week: for everyone three shades of green and my personal prompt - Embellished/3D.

In my head I had a good idea of what I wanted to do, but as usual I was in a hurry and it did not go to plan.  I had wanted to do a two shade green gradient on two nails, but I didn't let the base colour dry enough and when I was sponging, it pulled the base colour off!

So I took it all off and ended up doing a saran wrap with the two colours instead.  In hindsight it looks better than perhaps the gradient would have.

For the embellished/3d part of it, I just added some 3d flowers.  For my pinky finger, I still have on the silver from last week (manicure still to share).

SIMPLES - Week 4 - Saran Wrap

SIMPLES: Nail Art from Muggle to Mastery - Week 4 is Saran Wrap (cling film to us UK dwellers).

First off I cut and reshaped my nails this weekend. I really liked the length but unfortunately they were getting "too long" for my job (I work in a school, reception year).    I also shaped them back to square nails.  I haven't had them like this in a long while and thought it a good idea, but I am not sure I like them!.

Anyway, back to this week.  I have done this technique several times and it is a real quick and easy to go manicure.  The possibilities are endless. Have a look in this link here.

For this particular one I did a purple saran wrap with a matte top coat, which I really like.

Items used:
OPI Nail Envy
Barry M - Berry
Illamasqua - Poke
Matte Top Coat - Primark
Cling Film (Saran Wrap)

Vinyl Chocolate Saran Manicure

The title says it all I guess?  Vinyl Record by LA Girl for the blue and Haute Chocolate by Sally Hansen on the ring finger.  I used SH HC with cling film (saran wrap) on top of the blue.  Not a bad effect.  I love this brown shade by SH.  I think it suits my skin tone really well.

Sally Hansen Saran Wrap

Saran Wrap manicure again.  I can't remember the name of the dark shade but it was Sally Hansen.  Saran wrap shade was Sally Hansen Ion.
I couldn't resist and topped it with a glitter coat of 151 by Golden Rose. SV to finish if off.

Another manicure from July.  I loved wearing this on my shorter nails.  Wearing Himalayan Blue by Sally Hansen and  saran wrap technique (cling film for us UK ladies) using OPI Curry up Don't be Late!

LB31DC - Day 9 - Saran Wrap

This is day 9 of the laid back 31 day challenge and it is saran wrap. I've never done this technique and it has been on my to-do list forever. So here it is finally. Not bad, but there is room for improvement. I only put on one coat of the base colour and so when I saran-wrapped the second colour on it took away some of the base leaving a bare nail (I patched this up and it looks fine).
Items Used:
OPI Nail Envy
Seche Vite
Nails Inc - In Style Beach - Orange/Coral
LA Girl - Sunny - Yellow
Cling Film (Saran Wrap)
