40 Great Nail Art Ideas - Earth Tones - Nude Base

The last manicure for this challenge! YAY I have managed to complete it.

Week 52 of the 52 week 40 Great Nail Art Idea's Challenge.

Challenge this week is Earth Tones and my personal pattern prompt of Nude Base

I can't believe a whole year has passed by.  Although this has been challenging at times, I am so proud and pleased to have taken part.  A big thanks goes to Debbie of Crumpets Tarts for organising this for us.

I did a saran wrap manicure with earth tone colours and for extra bling I added some studs.

40 Great Nail Art Ideas - Nude and Colour - Leopard

Week 42 of the 52 week 40 Great Nail Art Idea's Challenge.

Wow, just 10 more weeks to go.

Trying to catch up, here is last weeks manicure.

This week the prompt is Nude and Colour and my personal pattern prompt - Leopard.

I had so many ideas running through my head, I couldn't make up my mind.  In the end my daughter suggested I use the Barry M Daylight Curing polishes she bought me for my birthday earlier this month.

And lo and behold, the first colour I looked at was a nude, great ....

.... and this is what I came up with.

40 Great Nail Art Ideas - Mint Green - Half and Half

Week 36 of the 52 week 40 Great Nail Art Idea's Challenge.

This week the prompt is a colour prompt of Mint Green and my personal pattern prompt - Half and Half.

I struggled with this prompt for quite a bit.  I wasn't quite sure what to do.  But I did it in the end.

I wish I had taken a bit more time and used a better sponge, but overall I am really quite pleased with how this turned out.

I painted half and half with each of my colours striaght on to my nails and put on a quick drying top coat.

I then painted on the sponge half and half the colours and sponged on to the nails,  (two coats) followed by a top coat and viola:

I really like this vertical gradient and I love the colour combination.

Elegant Corset Decal Nails

I did this elegant manicure way back in March.  I met up with my bestie school friends, we had not met up for over fifteen to twenty years!  But we have over the years kept in touch via social media.

The meet up was arranged in a matter of days.  We were just chatting as one of them is having a birthday party in June. We were all saying how we were looking forward to it and meeting up, but what a shame it was such a long time away, we just over the course of a day or two decided why wait....  and set a date later that week to meet up.

I wanted something simple but elegant and I had had these decals in my stash for ages (bought from Aliexpress), so what a good reason to use them.

The polishes as used pictured above.  The glitter one I've used loads of times, unfortunately it is not named, bought from Ebay.  It is beautiful. As was the evening spent with beautiful lovely ladies, who I am proud to say are MY friends.  Love them xx

40 Great Nail Art Ideas - Animals

Week 29 of the 52 week 40 Great Nail Art Idea's Challenge.

The prompt for the challenge this week is Animals.

Recently I have seen loads of animal print nails on the web.  I can't give credit to anyone in particular as I took inspiration from lots of pics that I liked and this is what I came up with.

For my base for the animal nails I used SH Shorely and then the gradient is done with a mix of brown, black and white acrylic paints.

The next two photos are without clean up.  Not too bad a mess and it was fairly easy to clean up as it was acrylic paint used for the gradient.

Plum Luck Saran Wrap Skittlette - 10 November 2015

I love the saran wrap (cling film to us Brits) method.  It is quick, easy and very effective.  I particularly lurrvve how this one turned out.  Love it.

Porcelain Decals - 8 July 2015

I love the final look of this manicure, once the decals are on and top coat applied.  Beautiful :) .....

... but it didn't start off like that. The polish on first coat was so streaky and even after applying 3 coats it was not perfect.
But the decals covered up all the defects in the polish application and the final result was one I was finally happy with.
I started off with a full pack of decals.....

...after applying to both hands, this is what was was left.

40 Great Nail Art Ideas - Glitter Topper or Flakie - Camouflage

Here we are now on week ten of the 52 week 40 Great Nail Art Idea's Challenge.

This week the prompt for everyone is Glitter Topper or Flakie with a personal pattern prompt each, mine is Camouflage.

I had a pretty good idea of what to do.  Mind you having said that, the camo nails are my second attempt.  I did the first ones, randomly painting on stripes in different colours.  But the end result looked awful, so I took it off, re-did the accent nails and so much better!

I am very pleased with the end result and got lots of compliments on the manicure.  The flakie polish gave the whole manicure a different look in different lighting.
