Leopard Espresso! - 11 May 2015

After my beautiful (smiles to self :)) last manicure, a really plain down to earth one here.  I filed down my nails so they are a tad shorter, cuticles could do with some TLC also.

But hey ho, here a simple leopard print accent nail.

Also used on this manicure not pictured, a matte top coat.

Doll Face - 16 April 2015

I have a thing for nude/beige polish.

In the bottle this looked sooo good.  But what I realised once I starting applying this polish was quite.. well.. not quite awful but not nice either!  It was so streaky and dried as soon at it hit my nails.  I loved the fact that it was a matte polish but I needed three coats to get it into a decent opacity.  Even then it still looks streaky in places.

This photo below is with top coat, a little better but sorry about awful lighting.

Pink and White Spotty Dotty - 24 June 2014

24 June 2014

A simple spotty manicure here. Using Sally Hansen Ballet Rouges as the main colour and Barry M Matt White on the ring finger. Finished off with Born Pretty Store Super Matte topcoat

I wish I had been a bit more consistent with the dots, should have done them all the same size.  I prefer the smaller dots.

Matte Plum with Decals - 4 June 2014

4 June 2014

Ok, so this manicure is using the LA Girl Matte polish in Matte Plum with some nail water decals I got from AliExpress.

I love the colour combination of plum with blue.

I also used a Matte polish from **Born Pretty Store on top of the manicure to make it more mattified.

The manicure looks satin finish, but that is because of the cuticle oil (from my previous post).

SIMPLES - Week 4 - Saran Wrap

SIMPLES: Nail Art from Muggle to Mastery - Week 4 is Saran Wrap (cling film to us UK dwellers).

First off I cut and reshaped my nails this weekend. I really liked the length but unfortunately they were getting "too long" for my job (I work in a school, reception year).    I also shaped them back to square nails.  I haven't had them like this in a long while and thought it a good idea, but I am not sure I like them!.

Anyway, back to this week.  I have done this technique several times and it is a real quick and easy to go manicure.  The possibilities are endless. Have a look in this link here.

For this particular one I did a purple saran wrap with a matte top coat, which I really like.

Items used:
OPI Nail Envy
Barry M - Berry
Illamasqua - Poke
Matte Top Coat - Primark
Cling Film (Saran Wrap)

LA Girl - Matte Blue Twilight

Mid week I changed my manicure from the Valentines to this one.  I love blue and had this in my un-worn box since last year!  Over my Nail envy this is two coats of LA Girl Matte Blue Twilight.  I only left is Matte on my ring finger and put a shiny coat of OPI top coat on the others.
In this last photo however I thought I would jazz it up just a tad.  I used Deep Blue Ocean by Sinful Colors.  This is in a jelly base which is blue with multitone blue glitter/flakes in it.

Manicures Gone Wrong!

Have you ever done a manicure, and then ruined it? I have and this post is about my manicures that looked ok, but then something happened, and ruined it!

Sunday 25 April Manicure
I wanted a soft pale colour, I went with OPI Cameo Role, which was ok, I then decided to Konad it, again not too bad. Then I went to bed! and this is what happened. I went to work with it, hiding my nails in shame. All the kids thought they were great and liked the flowers, how innocent they are, but I was in ashamed!

......So Monday 26 April, I couldn't bare it anymore and had to change my nail polish.

I decided, against my head saying "no" and thought I would do a Ruffian Manicure! I can't even remember the colours I used as again it was a disaster. One or two nails looked ok, but it had not gone on like I wanted. The colours were bleeding into each other. Oh Dear. But it was late at night, I had to leave it again!

Next day went to work, the kids loved it, I had changed my nail polish (this set a trend in them asking now, on a daily basis, in the playground, "what colour have got on your nails today.......?"

Tuesday 27 April, changed it slightly, I added a matte coat (Manglaze).

This lasted a few days, and got fed up and changed again! This is the most I have changed my colour in a working week!

Thursday 29 April
I changed to Nails Inc. The Thames. A lovely grey colour, nails in photo are not good, as you can see chipped already, all that washing up you see! I had later in the day bought my new buy: Gosh Rainbow. Thought would try it out on my pinky.
