40 Great Nail Art Ideas - Glitter Topper or Flakie - Camouflage

Here we are now on week ten of the 52 week 40 Great Nail Art Idea's Challenge.

This week the prompt for everyone is Glitter Topper or Flakie with a personal pattern prompt each, mine is Camouflage.

I had a pretty good idea of what to do.  Mind you having said that, the camo nails are my second attempt.  I did the first ones, randomly painting on stripes in different colours.  But the end result looked awful, so I took it off, re-did the accent nails and so much better!

I am very pleased with the end result and got lots of compliments on the manicure.  The flakie polish gave the whole manicure a different look in different lighting.
See what other participants did in this challenge via the inlinkz below.

OPI Skull and Glossbones

My latest manicure is this lovely combination IMO.  I used OPI Skull and Glossbones from the Pirates of the Caribbean collection and for the ring accent finger I used GOSH Miss Minty.  The combination worked really well.  I love the SnG shade it is just lovely, it reminds me of some other dupes I have from other makes.  I think perhaps a comparison is due?

GOSH - Holographic with a hint of Teal

I have worn this before and the photo's are much better there.  These were taken just as the sun was setting so not a lot of light.  None the less it was still gorgeous on.  This is three coats put on in a hurry (was the night before the morning of attending a wedding!)  I topped it off with a coat of SV.

A few days later, I got bored and changed the manicure by putting on a coat of Nails Inc Electric Teal which I got in InStyle Magazine.  I used some nail art hexagon glitter to jazz it up a little.  Looked better IRL.

GOSH - Purple Heart

 26 MARCH 2011
I have worn this before, way back in October 2010, but felt it needed an outing again.  What can I say, not much, I like it.

GOSH - My New Sparklies!

The other day I went up to the highstreet and popped into Superdrug.  They have loads of 3 for 2, half price etc deals at the moment.  I spotted these two lovelies at half price and HAD to have them.
The one on the left is Silver Star (563) and one on the right is Magic Star (562).
I put a coat of the Magic Star over  the purple Suedefx manicure on my ring finger.  This has a lot of different colour glitters in it, red, blue, green, silver. It is lovely.  I think it would be quite sheer on its own so probably best for layering over other colours.

GOSH Miss Minty and China Glaze For Audrey

Just a quick update on my manicure of last week.
Here is a quick comparison of Miss Minty by GOSH and For Audrey by China Glaze.
Left is GOSH MM and right CG For Audrey.  I love For Audrey but I for some reason or other prefer GMM.  What about you?

GOSH - Miss Minty

I was in Superdrug last week and I seem to have caught one of the sales assistants eyes!  She remembered me from the last time I was there telling her of my nail polish/lacquer addiction.  She immediately told me that they had loads of offers on most nail brands and that GOSH had some new colours in.  I went straight to the counter and picked up Miss Minty along with two other colours (offer was 3 for 2, not bad).  Anyway I thought Miss Minty could be a dupe for China Glaze For Audrey but think it may be a bit light?  I got it anyway.
so.....   NOTW is this lovely colour by Gosh - Miss Minty or number 597.  Application on first coat looked a bit streaky but with the second it evened out and was opaque, no streaks.  So base coat of OPI Nail Envy, two coats Miss Minty and a top coat of OPI Rapid Dry.
I love this colour, how about you?
p.s.
But before I did my NOTW, I cut back my nails this weekend by half the length!  Last week the length was.......What do you think of the new length?

GOSH - Purple Heart

After having worn Sinful - Sharon's Heart for a few days, I fancied a change.....
....... I therefore went for another colour I have had for a while and not worn as yet, Purple Heart by GOSH. This is a lovely colour with purple and green shimmer running through it. It is quite decieving, in a good way. In certain light it looks quite black and then just a slight movement, and it changes. I loved this colour. This is two coats with seche top coat. See the Shine? Almost like water.Tip wear though, from one day at work! Using small white boards and pens, handling loads of paper etc, working in a classroom does have its downfalls. But hey ho, I still love this colour.

GOSH - Holographic

Nearly caught up with my manicures to share. This was worn beginning of last week.

I have had this since the summer and have only just worn this. My daughter beat me to it when I bought it (I also ended up getting another bottle in case I lost this to her!)
Finally, I have got round to putting it on. The formula was ok'ish. I needed three coats to get the result but it is so worth it. My camera does not do the nails justice. This is a real stunner and I am glad I bought my spare, thank you Superdrug.A Close-up of the stunning holographic effect.....Note to self "next time in the Highstreet, get another bottle."

Pink Sponge Manicure and the Chop

Another manicure to share with you from a week or so back. My Favourtie manicure technique I think. This is so easy and quick I love doing this type of manicure.I used three colours, Nails Inc Oxford Circus for the palest, Gosh Pink Rose for the mid tone and Nails Inc Embankment for the tips and a top coat to finish it. In all must have taken me 10 minutes to do.
A few days later however, my thumb nail broke, and I could not rescue with a patch and I cut them back.

Some Old Manicures

Sorry for not being on for a while.

It was the last day of term as you may know on Friday 23 July, (if you are in the UK). It has been a real busy half term. So I have not been able to post much.

I have loads of my manicures photo'd and saved and so am just going to share as many as I can in this one post, so please forgive if it is lonnnnggg:)

This was a manicure of Yellow comparisons that I did, I updated it for a day by stamping it, a bit of Konad and some BM Plates.
Turned up Turquoise by China Glaze, The colour in reality was much brighter and sharper. My camera did not seem to want to pick that up:(
A few days later, I updated the manicure by fauxnading it, you can see I am still a novice as it is a bit skew wiff!

A Blue by China Glaze, apologies, the name escapes me. My daughter did this manicure, she then updated it by putting on Rainbow by Gosh

Tantalize Me by China Glaze

This is Moody Blue by China Glaze, a lovely creme polish.
A colour drop, the actual colour though is much brighter on the nail me thinks.
Excuse the lack of clean up, I just noticed!
