I was stuck on this one - so just did plain gradient warm nails.

The prompt for the challenge this week is Animals.

Recently I have seen loads of animal print nails on the web.  I can't give credit to anyone in particular as I took inspiration from lots of pics that I liked and this is what I came up with.

For my base for the animal nails I used SH Shorely and then the gradient is done with a mix of brown, black and white acrylic paints.

The next two photos are without clean up.  Not too bad a mess and it was fairly easy to clean up as it was acrylic paint used for the gradient.

A big fail here.  Although I love the colours, the roses were a BIG FAIL here!  I normally do my nail art with acrylic paint, only sometimes do I use the polish itself. 

Here I did use the nail polish and they just did not turn out right.  To top it all, when I applied the top coat, it all smeared.

GOT Polish Challenge Part 2 - Week 11 - Red

Week 11 of the GOT2 (Golden Oldie Thursday) Polish challenge over at Crumpet's Nail Tarts. The theme for this week is Red.

I literally did just that, Red.  This is one of my oldest red nail polish that I own.  It is definitely double figure years old, probably 15years or older!  I would love to own more Zoya nail lacquer, but it is just to heavy on the pocket!

I have neglected it over newer reds, so here it is in all its glory and nothing else.

Blue Animal Print

I am on a catch up mission is the next few days.  I did this manicure way back in May and have only just got round to posting it.  So here it is.  I saw one in pink while looking through pinterest and thought I would have a go in blue.  I did not turn out how I expected.  I got lots of compliments at work though, which is always nice.  Also as you can see on the index finger the black paint smudged, my top coat was a little on the thick and gloopy side and I was too impatient and applied before the paint had dried.

BFF - Coffee Challenge

Continuing the BFF challenge - this is number 11 of 16.  The theme as chosen by Emma - Coffee.
This was quite difficult.  I had loads of ideas in my head, but couldn't put them on my nails!!  Even googled, not much.  But then I stumbled on an idea on YT and this is my british brand interpretation.  I printed out the logo on my thumb and I even had a coffee named lacquer in my collection that I used.

Models Own Hedkandi - Ibiza Mix Sandwich

This weekend I popped into Boots and got me a great glitter (well two - you need a back up - right?).  Ibiza Mix - a multi-coloured and multi-textured glitter.  I must have ... or two.  This first picture is IM over two coats of Zoya Iris.  I found it better to dab on IM to get a better effect.  But that's not all, over IM I also dabbed on a bit of silver glitter just for that little bit more sparkle.

IM has now been sandwiched, one final coat of Zoya Iris to seal it.  A great effect if I do say so myself.
Have you got IM yet?  If not why not?  I know there are several similar ones out there, but this is the only one I could get my hands on and am I glad.

Rrrrraw - Tiger about!

We are teaching the children at school about the Rain Forest and although we learnt about the Jaguar I thought I would do another jungle animal inspired manicure instead.  I have done this before and because it is so quick and easy I thought why not.  This manicure is done using the sponge technique.  The colours I used are OPI - Banana Bandana (the yellow near the cuticle), Zoya - Felina (pink in the middle) and OPI - Atomic Orange (near the tip).  For the stripes just a regular black nail art pen and all topped off with a coat of SV.

This is without top coat and you can see the bumpiness!

APRIL CATCH-UP

I have not been on for a while, kids, life, half term, back to work etc got in the way.  I did however manage to do my nails just not enough time to load on here.  So this is just a re-cap of what I wore in April.

China Glaze - Thistle.  We went to the London Aquarium today, it was a treat for my daughter as it was her 17th yesterday and that is what she wanted to do!  I have also filed my nails down a little, not too short but not long either!

LA Girl - Light Show. A bright vibrant orange.  I did a little nail art with the dots here, they come out white, but in actual fact they are a pale blue, just my camera refusing to pick up the colour!

Zoya - Felina.  An oldie that I have had for years but I don't think I have ever worn it!  So here it is.

Just noticed in this last Zoya set of pictures, my cuticles are just awful.  Did I mention I have been helping re-decorate my sons bedroom?  Maybe that is why.  Or it could be that I have been neglecting them, I must start applying my cuticle oil as often as possible.

Sorry for being quiet.....

.... but been the summer holidays, and not been polishing too much. Been trimming my nails down, and now they have grown already! Can't be the sunny weather, we have not had any in the past few weeks here in UK!

I have polished my nails this weekend, and came up with this.
Back to work and school today, so hope to be back in the swing of changing my nails on a weekly basis. Thanks to all fellow bloggers for their blogging. I have been reading loads on here and lots of inspiration, loads on my wish list, shame most brands like china glaze, color club, catrice, essence, zoya and many more are either too expensive or not available here in the UK.
