GOT Polish Challenge Part 2 - Week 8 - With Bling!

OK, I am really late with this one.

Week 8 of the GOT2 (Golden Oldie Thursday) Polish challenge over at Crumpet's Nail Tarts. The theme for this week was With Bling.

I think I managed that and then some.  I did a sponge gradient and was going to just glitter two accent nails, but before I knew it, I had "blinged" all of them!  To add even more bling, I added some rhinestones, metal studs and caviar beads to my ring accent finger.

GOT Polish Challenge - Week 9 - Skittle

Week 9 of the (Golden Oldie Thursday) GOT Polish challenge over at Crumpet's Nail Tarts. This week the theme is Skittle.

I was a little confused as to what a skittle manicure was. I have done skittlette manicures but this was a first I think.  There are a lot of variations out there.  I think I got it right, this is my interpretation.  It is a simple manicure using ten golden oldie nail polishes which have not been used in quite a while and are definitely over a year old. Some rhinestones to bling it up a bit also.

25 October 7/7 - My Halloween Nails

I was looking for inspiration for some simple Halloween nails and I came across this one.  Not so simple or quick hence only the accent ring finger.  I don't think the gem stones worked either, they were TOO big and kept catching on everything and by the end of the day nearly all had fallen off.  This manicure did not stay on too long! It looked good though lol.

BFF - Black and White Challenge

Continuing the BFF challenge - this is number 10 of 16.  The theme as chosen by Caitlin - Black and White.
I am cheating here, this is not a manicure that I did, but a manicure as done by my daughter about a week ago.  She took such a long time with it I thought I would share this with you for the black and white challenge.

She wore this with a white outfit for an engagement we went to that weekend, and needless to say she got a whole load of compliments, I am a proud mummy :o)  She used a mixture of nails lacquer and acrylic paints to achieve these results.

La Paz-itively Hot Pink Jubilee

As you may be aware we in the UK have just celebrated Queen Elizabeth's Diamond Jubilee.  To mark the occasion I did two jubilee related manicures.
This first one was not so great (the stamping is off on all the nails).  Had it not been for the wonky stamping this would have looked fantastic IMO.  Nonetheless I got some nice comments from the children at school so I was happy.

I would say zebra, that was my first thought, but you could say tiger?

Anyway I really liked this manicure, so fresh and spring like.  For a bit of bling I added some flowers with rhinestones on some nails. I like it.

For this manicure I used:

LA Girls - Sunny - Yellow

Acrylic black paint for the stripes.

Seche Vitte Top Coat.

Born Pretty - Rhinestones for review

Last week I got a lovely surprise in the post.  I had recently bought some rhinestones from eBay, but for the life of me could not remember if I had got these???  I just could not figure it out.  But if I had stopped and read the card enclosed, I would have know it was sent to me for review from Born Pretty.  I have to say I was just gob smacked at the amount for a start and secondly it pleased my daughter no end as she could have a pack to herself.

They are a black AB flat back rhinestone measuring 3mm and as you can see they are gorgeous.

Thanks to Born Pretty for these, I would definitely give them 5 stars.

Pastel Stripey Manicure of Many Colours......

..... a take on the coat of many colours but this with just four and some gold bling!

So after my two gradient sponge manicures, I fancied something a little less "in your face".  So I did this stripey manicure of many colours (well three colours, four if you count white).
I used Nail Envy as always as a base then put on a thick coat of white 248 by Honeypot.  Then freehand painted on the other three colours by China Glaze: Lemon Fizz, Peachy Keen and Moody Blue.  Once dry I put on some bling using a gold striper pen and some heart rhinestones on the ring finger.  All finished off with a coat of SV.

Alas, although I am pleased with the result, not quite the effect I wanted, it is still in your face!  But I like it.

 

Red, White and Blue

Well my daughter did her nails again this weekend and she wanted OTT and boy did she do it!

She had wanted to do a nautical theme manicure but went right off tangent and came up with the following idea as you will see in her photo's. The base colour is OPI Alpine Snow and I did the red stripes with OPI Red for her using my sticky back plastic cut into thin strips.  She put on the blue heart gems at the end and she did her OTT ring finger nails with me filling in the missing beads.  Lots of SV over the ring finger also.
