26 Great Nail Art Ideas - Work Appropriate Nail Art

This is the 15th manicure of the 26 Great Nail Art Idea's Challenge.

This fortnight the theme is Work Appropriate Nail Art

Although anything I wear on my nails is appropriate for my work (I work in an Infant school).

But if I were working in an office perhaps or other profession I think subtle nail art would be more appropriate.

So this is what I came up with.  I used self adhesive nail stickers for the accents (I have worn these before here).

26 Great Nail Art Ideas - Pastel to Bold Gradient with Something on Top

This is the 14th manicure of the 26 Great Nail Art Idea's Challenge.

This fortnight the theme is Pastel to Bold Gradient with Something on Top.

I love doing gradients, if a little messy.  Here I used a base coat of OPI Alpine Snow.  I put on a coat of SV for quick drying.  Then for the gradient I used LA Colors Mega Watt and Elf Mango Madness.

For the something on top, I used some floral and butterfly nail water decals - voila.

Simple and effective.

40 Great Nail Art Ideas - Things in Water

Week 45 of the 52 week 40 Great Nail Art Idea's Challenge.

Seven more weeks to go ......

This week the prompt is Things in Water.  I don't own many stamps and so was a little stuck on what to do for this prompt.  But the manicure I have done is inspired by lots of nail artists out there who have done similar, so thank you all.

So on to the manicure, I did a blue gradient then applies a couple of nail water decals followed by a dip in water for some water spotting. The end result .......

Prince Tribute Nails - One week... Still can't believe it!

Purple gradient. A week ago Prince passed away, I still can't believe it......

40 Great Nail Art Ideas - 3 Shades of Red/Orange - Fluid Lines

Week 30 of the 52 week 40 Great Nail Art Idea's Challenge.

The prompt for the challenge this week is 3 Shades of Red/Orange  and my personal pattern prompt - Fluid Lines.

I was in a hurry and this is not quite what I had in mind but here you go.  As it goes the red by LA Color had a gelly finish and so I ended up with a sandwich of the fluid lines.

I started off doing a gradient with LA Color Moody Red and Pride of London orange, but you couldn't see the difference really.  Then with the lightest orange I did some random fluid lines, topped it with another coat of moody red and voila.....

Rose Fail - 1 August 2014

1 August 2014

A big fail here.  Although I love the colours, the roses were a BIG FAIL here!  I normally do my nail art with acrylic paint, only sometimes do I use the polish itself.

Here I did use the nail polish and they just did not turn out right.  To top it all, when I applied the top coat, it all smeared.

Pink Gradient and Flower Decal - 27 July 2014

27 July 2014

I love doing gradient manicures.  I do try not to make too much of a mess when sponging, but still I don't like the clean up afterwards.

Anyway, isn't this one a beauty?  I think so :)  Really delicate with the pink blossom decals (which by the way I love - from AliExpress, haul I blogged about here).

Love it.

Tweed Nails

I saw these on Saranail's blog, and totally had to recreate.   I should have used a brush to do the darker crosses on the tweed nails instead of my dotting tool.  Lesson learnt and I know what to do next time. I loved these so much, I only took them off yesterday (I had them on for a whole week).  Here is my version:

Items used:
OPI Nail Envy
Sally Hansen - Tahitian Sunset (base for the tweed nail)
China Glaze - Side-Saddle (middle, thumb and tweed)
NYC - Full Metal Jacket (Ring)
LA Colors - Shock (yellow for the tweed)
White Striper for tweed
Gold Striper
Seche Vite

Red into Black Gradient

I had been meaning to do a red and black gradient for ever.  Finally got round to it back in November 2013. Boy am I glad I did.  I started off with a coat of the red and then followed with a sponge gradient with both red and black.  The colours faded into each other beautifully.  I love love loved this on.

Extra Relaxed 31 Day Challenge - Day 17 - Glitter

Day 17 (week 17) of the ER31DC - Glitter.  Today's challenge is Glitter, and this is my manicure.  A lovely soft pink with a hint of pink glitter under the silver.  Unfortunately the camera did not capture the pink glitter. I wore this for four days as I loved the colour and sparkle.
Items used:
OPI Nail Envy
Seche Vite top coat
Nails Inc - Oxford Circus - base colour
Sinful Colors - Pinky Glitter
LA Colors - Sparkling Diamonds
