GOT Polish Challenge Part 2 - Week 9 - Lilac Floral

A Day late with week 9 of the GOT2 (Golden Oldie Thursday) Polish challenge over at Crumpet's Nail Tarts. The theme for this week is Lilac.

I teamed my lilac base with some hand painted acrylic floral.  The acrylic paints I used here, I bought about 2 years ago and have only just opened the box to use in this manicure. The violet is so bright and vibrant, it is beautiful.

OK, I am really late with this one.

Week 8 of the GOT2 (Golden Oldie Thursday) Polish challenge over at Crumpet's Nail Tarts. The theme for this week was With Bling.

I think I managed that and then some.  I did a sponge gradient and was going to just glitter two accent nails, but before I knew it, I had "blinged" all of them!  To add even more bling, I added some rhinestones, metal studs and caviar beads to my ring accent finger.

Items used:
OPI Nail Envy
for gradient cuticle to free edge:

Nails Inc - Fashion Fawn and Jermyn Street
LA Girl Glitter - Live on Stage

SIMPLES - Week 1 - Accent Nail and InStyle Nails Inc Freebie

I have joined a new group on Facebook organised by The Crumpet herself, its called SIMPLES: Nail Art from Muggle to Mastery.  It's main aim is to master various nail art techniques.

For the first week (I am very late with this one) the learning objective was the Accent Nail.  This time using glitter polish. The glitter I used is more a fine/micro glitter lacquer rather than your normal more pronounced glitter.
I also used the free Nails Inc nail polish I got with the June issue of InStyle magazine.

Born Pretty Store - Open Ring Stud Review

Today I am reviewing the **Open Ring Studs sent to me by Born Pretty Store.

My first impression was "great", and then it turned to "... how do I even get to them...?"  I could not open the wheel.  Several family members tried but we just could not open it! But I was not going to be defeated and unfortunately I had to break into the wheel and decant into another one. Phew!

I did a sponge gradient using a white and two greens.  Stuck the rings down with clear polish and then put drops of glitter polish in the rings for more sparkle.

Although I like these rings I did find that where they weren't closed, they got stuck in hair and clothing.  I think a thicker layer or two of top coat could help but next time I may just have to flatten them with some pliers so they lie flatter.  Overall it was an ok product and I already have an idea for some nail art where this will be an ideal product.  Hope to share with you soon.

You can use my discount code PBL91 which will get you 10% off the full price. So what are you waiting for, go to Born Pretty Store for loads more nail art goodies.

Sparkly Nails - Lace Wheel Water Decals Review

At the weekend I got some gorgeous Lace Wheel Water Decals in the post from Sparkly Nails to review. There are 20 pieces in all, (10 black and 10 white).  They retail at £1.65 and UK standard postage is only £1.50.

As other decals I have used before, these were just as easy to apply.  I simply painted my nails (or rather sponged my nails, using my new KIKO blues and Sally Hansen).  I waited a few minutes, cut out the decals, dipped in water and applied to my nails, top coat of SV and some gems on the other nails and viola!

I must add I am quite frugal and decided to use them as an accent on my gradient nails.  I went for the white pattern.

Nail art has never been simpler and quicker.  Love these decals**.

Items used:
OPI Nail Envy
Sparky Nails Water Decals
Sally Hansen - Lavender Cloud
KIKO - Light Pastel Blue and Electric Blue
Nail Studs
Seche Vite top coat
