40 Great Nail Art Ideas - Red with Dots

Week 20 of the 52 week 40 Great Nail Art Idea's Challenge.

This week the prompt was Red and my personal prompt was Dots.

I love this Red, it is opaque in one coat, although I used two for this manicure.

Dots N Roses - 26 April 2015

Oh dear my cuticles look awful, I think I stopped the oil :(  The manicure would of course look much better with good cuticles, but any hoot, some minty pink vintage rose nail art.

Pink and White Spotty Dotty - 24 June 2014

24 June 2014

A simple spotty manicure here. Using Sally Hansen Ballet Rouges as the main colour and Barry M Matt White on the ring finger. Finished off with Born Pretty Store Super Matte topcoat

I wish I had been a bit more consistent with the dots, should have done them all the same size.  I prefer the smaller dots.

GOT Polish Challenge - Week 4 - Dots

I was looking forward to this one.  I had wanted to this design for ages.  So I set about knowing just what to do, and  it turned out a big fail. I did not have time to do it again or do another manicure.  And really I can't say anymore :(
Items used:
LA Girl Disco - Dance Studio (a lot darker navy than the photo depicts)
China Glaze - Sweet Hook (Lilac)
Honeypot - White
NYC - Lights Camera Glitter

Golden Dots on Chocolate!

Another manicure from last year.  I really like dark colours on short nails.  Wish I had just done the one dot on the middle and ring finger though. Oh well, looked OK for a few days.

Items used:
OPI Nail Envy
Seche Vite
Color Club - With Abandon
China Glaze - Passion
Miscellaneous glitter on the ring finger.

Interlocking Dots

Another catch up post here - 15 November 2013.  This was my first time doing the interlocking design.  I think it looks best on the little pinky finger.  More practise needed on this one.
Items used:
OPI Nail Envy
Sally Hansen - Ion
Seche Vite
Miscellaneous Glitter polish
I am sorry, I can't remember the darker colour that I used here.

Extra Relaxed 31 Day Challenge - Day 5 - BLUE

Day 5 (week 5) of the ER31DC - Blue. I haven't worn nail polish for over a week and a half since being ill. The last ER31DC was just photographed and immediately taken off!  So my nails were crying out to be painted and what a lovely colour this is, blue, my favourite.  A few dots to make it a bit more interesting and voila....
Items Used:
OPI Nail Envy
NYC Quick Dry Top Coat
LA Girl Disco - Deejay (Base colour)
Color Club - Factory Girl

Lilac Spotty Dotty

16 January 2013

Some dotty nail art worn today.  This was so easy to do. A base colour of the gorgeous Pembroke Close by Nails Inc.  Then the Lines using black and white acrylic paint.  The dots/spots using a darker purple shade of Nails Inc Savile Row and the lighter lilac by China Glaze.  I used a wooden skewer cut and filed for the larger dots and my larger dotting tool for the small spots. This was not the pattern I had in my head but all in all, it turned out pretty well.
Items Used:
Nail Envy Base
Seche Vite Top Coat
Nails Inc - Pembroke Close
Nails Inc - Savile Row
China Glaze - Sweet Hook
Acrylic Paint - black and white

Peachy Keen and Dotty

Sorry I have been awol for a while.  Just been busy with work and stuff.  But I must share what I have been doing with my nails the past few weeks.

2 March 2012
This manicure I did way back in March (the the 2nd or so).  Although the colours work well I was not impressed with my wonky dots!!  Nonetheless it was ok.
Item used:
Peach Keen by China Glaze
Ogre-The Top Blue by OPI
Three different sizes of dotting tool for the dots
Top coat of SV and voila.

Gone Totally Dotty!

Still with the dotty theme, this is my latest manicure.  For the base colour I used Where's the Soiree by Color Club, a creme black which dries with a satin finish.  I then went a bit dotty and added dots just to the ends of my nails and for the ring finger - all over.  Topped it with a coat of SV for shine.

Dotty Check Pattern

More nail art on my nails for this week.  I saw this originally on a white base with black dots and it looked awesome.  But I wanted a different slant on it so went pink.  I used OPI Japanese Rose Garden for the base and then used Victoria by ASOS Ciate Pots for the dots.  Topped off with a generous layer of Seche Vite.
I am quite pleased with the effect.

Chocolate Spots!!

Horrible colour and horrible nails.  Can you tell I am hiding a broken one?  Oh dear :(  I used OPI Chocolate Moose for the base and China Glaze Bahamian Escape for the blue dot and on top of that CG - Sunset Sail.
