40 Great Nail Art Ideas - Aqua or Turquoise with Decals

Week 18 of the 52 week 40 Great Nail Art Idea's Challenge.

This week the prompt is Aqua or Turquoise with a personal prompt: mine being decals.

I have a huge stash of decals as I so love using them.

I attended another wedding and I did nails to match.

Simple but effective, and they did the job to match my outfit.

MoYouNails Nella Milano One Coat Nail Polish Review

My first review yayyyyy :)

I was recently contacted by MoYouNails on behalf of OMG Marketing who are the manufacturers of  Nella Milano and MoYou Nails.  As you can imagine I was totally gobsmacked and thrilled.

Anyway they asked if I would be interested in choosing and reviewing 3 of their new one coat nail polishes which are made in Italy.

Well I jumped at the chance.

I set about and perused their site here and chose these 3 lovely beauties (with my daughters help).

These are from left to right - Lilac, Desire Red and Turquoise.

I must point out that these are as true to colour as I could get them.  The weather here in the UK today has been appalling!  Bright and sunny one minute and black as night the next.  It started off bright and sunny and with each swatch it got darker and darker. But I think I have managed to capture the correct shade and colour.

These are lovely 9ml bottles of polish and they have a beautiful wide brush that applies the polish wonderfully on the nail.

This first one is Lilac.  This first picture is one coat and unfortunately you can still see VNL.  But this could be due to the fact that I have quite opaque nail tips but I think you would definitely need two coats of this shade.  

This second photo shows two coats and I would say this is more true to colour than the one coater.  It applied beautifully and as you can see in the first photo, even with just one coat it is smooth, no streaks at all. I love it on with two coats.  Both are without top coat and still shiny.

Onto shade number two -  Desire Red.   I love this colour.  In this picture it looks a bit on the pink side but it is a true red, this is one coat and if you were in a hurry, one coat of this and a quick dry top coat, you could be out the door in no time.

Now this second picture is two coats and definitely true to colour.  Doesn't it look gorgeous?  Again both are without top coat and look at the shine.

The final third one is Turquoise. Again like the other two applied beautifully even with one coat no streaks and a beautiful shine. Again you could easily get away with one coat and top coat.

This second photo is with two coats and no topcoat.  Look, again how it shines.

I love these polishes.  The formula has a wonderful consistency and the brush is lovely to paint with.  I would say however say that the paler shades would probably need two coats but the darker shades are a one coater.  I have not applied a top coat on these swatches and they were shiny.  I wish I had applied top coat, I can only imagine how much they would shine then.

Extra Relaxed 31 Day Challenge - Day 15 - Delicate Print

Day 15 (week 15) of the ER31DC - Delicate Print. This is a week late in posting, been real busy with work and home life.  Print is so delicate it is hard to see.  But I used BM312 for this print.

Newbiehemian!

I have had this colour for ages now and still had not worn it - hence the title - this is New Bohemian! I would say the second picture is more true a colour than the first.  The first is taken with a lot of sun shining, WOW we were lucky the day this was taken ha ha.

Silver 'Diamond' Record

Sorry for being awol for a few weeks.  Been busy with work and also had really bad hayfever which is only just not under control.

Anyway I have some manicures to share with you that I have worn over the last few weeks.

This first one was a gem to do.... get it!  anyway I really like how this turned out.  Inspired by this look.  Hope you like my version with silver.

Purple and Turquoise Nails

I did a little nail art this week.  Colours used are China Glaze Flyin' High and Coconut Kiss.  The photos are crappy, apologies for that but the weather is awful and I may need a new camera.  Nothing seems to focus :o(
Nonetheless I like the final effect and got lots of compliments at school, so am happy.

Why I have been AWOL for a few months....

LONG POST.................
Apologies for not being on here since September.  But that is when I went back to work and a new role at the school.  It kind of took over my life and then what with work and home life it just got too much to keep up with my blog.  But I did photo my nails every week.  I just did not have the time to edit them and put on here.
But I took this evening off to do all that and post my manicures for the past 3 months.

So here goes:


SEPTEMBER: 
This manicure still sporting my rounded nails tips.  This was a lovely shade and went on perfectly and opaque in two coats.

Multicoloured sponged manicure, using obviously many colours over a white base coat.  Note new squoval nail tips.  I got very bored with the rounded tips and went back to my square nails.

But after a few days I got bored with the above colours and painted them with Models Own Purple Grey. 

OCTOBER: 

Lots here again, some have the bottles of lacquer photographed so easy to know what I used, others not so easy and I who knows what I used....  But where I can I will tell you.

Here I can say I used China Glaze Oh How street it is, a gorgeous vibrant orange.  I loved this colour.  I know you can see VNL but my nails tips are quite white so it can be very difficult to cover up.  I know some people don't like this, but I really don't mind at all.

This next one is an OPI shade a lovely rich dark burgundy colour.  Only problem is I can't remember the name!

This is either China Glaze or LA Girl, not sure which, but is was black/blue with micro glitter in it.

 My Favourite colours and manicure.  I love this and have done it a few time previously also.

This is Nails Inc - Prince Of Wales Drive here for Haloween nails.  Freehand pumpkin nail art for each nail!

Barry M - Pure Turquoise

Although I loved my multicolour crackle manicure over the weekend, I got pretty bored with it.  So I just had to redo my nails.  I 'd bought Barry M Pure Turquoise a few months back and it is one of my un-trieds.  When I say 'my un-trieds' I mean my daughter pretty much wore it when I got it, well before me!

Anyway this is just a gorgeous colour.  It looked and felt especially nice to wear today as the sun was out and it was not freezing outside!

Application was great, this is two coats over my Nail Envy and completely opaque .  Top coat is also by OPI.

China Glaze Custom Kicks and OPI A Good ......

.....Mandarin is Hard to Find. This is what I had on my nails this weekend. I have worn both colours before, but this is a new combination of the two. Two coats of each lacquer and a seche vite top coat and they were done.

Some Old Manicures

Sorry for not being on for a while.

It was the last day of term as you may know on Friday 23 July, (if you are in the UK). It has been a real busy half term. So I have not been able to post much.

I have loads of my manicures photo'd and saved and so am just going to share as many as I can in this one post, so please forgive if it is lonnnnggg:)

This was a manicure of Yellow comparisons that I did, I updated it for a day by stamping it, a bit of Konad and some BM Plates.
Turned up Turquoise by China Glaze, The colour in reality was much brighter and sharper. My camera did not seem to want to pick that up:(
A few days later, I updated the manicure by fauxnading it, you can see I am still a novice as it is a bit skew wiff!

A Blue by China Glaze, apologies, the name escapes me. My daughter did this manicure, she then updated it by putting on Rainbow by Gosh

Tantalize Me by China Glaze

This is Moody Blue by China Glaze, a lovely creme polish.
A colour drop, the actual colour though is much brighter on the nail me thinks.
