Painted Gradient

This was a very quick manicure.  I used just one coat of nails inc lacquer for the base.  It was a bit on the thick side and I was in a hurry and didn't feel the need to do a second coat.  To bling up the manicure I just painted on the glitter with a fairly dry brush. Weather here in the UK is awful, dark and grey and rather wet so the photos do not do this manicure justice at all, it looks much better IRL.

Failed Half Moon Gradient

I have done a half moon manicure before and it was reasonably ok.  I tried again and it is a massive fail.  I liked the way Sammy over at The Nailasaurus did hers and thought I would give it a go with a different colour combination.  Massive fail!!!   The gradient was ok but my half moons did not look like half moons at all.
So in the morning I tried to freehand rectify the half moons, did not look any better.  Much practice needed, but overall I was happy with the colours if nothing else. Oh well.......

Nail Envy

Remembrance Day Nails

I did these nails way back in November for Remembrance Day.  This is not my idea, I saw a beautiful version of these here and had to re-create for myself.  I did not use the one stroke technique, just plain  acrylic paint, a fine brush and dotting tool.

25 October 7/7 - My Halloween Nails

I was looking for inspiration for some simple Halloween nails and I came across this one.  Not so simple or quick hence only the accent ring finger.  I don't think the gem stones worked either, they were TOO big and kept catching on everything and by the end of the day nearly all had fallen off.  This manicure did not stay on too long! It looked good though lol.
Items used:
Random Black Nail Laquer
LA Girl - Disco Fever - Red
Acrylic Paint - Black
Rhinestones
Nail Envy
Seche Vite Top Coat

24 October 6/7 - Valen-Time for An-imal Print

I have done this manicure before and it turned out much better. I think the choice of colour here did not help and again I was tired!!  But hey ho ..... I know what to do/not to do next time.
Items used:
OPI - Valen-Time for Love
Acrylic Pain - Black
Nail Envy
Seche Vite Top Coat

19 October 5/7 - Party Animal Bling

Well I am still remembering to photo my lacquer with each new manicure.  Here it is dark vampy burgundy with a hint of glitter in it already, but I bling up the manicure with more glitter on the ring accent nail.  Simple but effective.
Items used:
Color Club - Sulty Diva - Gold Glitter
LA Girl - Party Animal - Base colour
Nail Envy
Seche Vite Top Coat

16 October 4/7 - Gingham Nails

This 4th October instalment is inspired by this manicure by Nailed it.  I only did one nail as it was quite time consuming and after a long day at work I did not have the energy to do all my nails.  But I really liked this so it is still on my list to do on all nails.
Items used:
OPI - Funky Dunkey - Purple
OPI - Venus di Violet - Base colour
Nail Envy
Seche Vite Top Coat

12 October 3/7 - Savoy Hill

Well I think I might have made a mental note anyway about taking photos of the nail lacquer bottle because here it is, Savoy Hill - Nails Inc.  And boy what a warm colour this is unlike the cold, windy chilly weather we are having here in London anyway.

9 October 2/7 - Random Nails

My second mani of October - again note to self "... take photo of lacquer used."  I don't know what colour or make this is, but it could have done with another coat or two, too many bald patches.
As always Nail Envy for base and SV for top coat.

3 October 1/7 - Pink and Blue Leopard Print

This is 1 of 7 manicures worn in October.  As I said in my 7/7 September post, one nail starts to grow and another peels/splits/breaks, can you see?  Oh well at least my cuticles are improving a little.
Items used:
ASOS Paint Pots - Lauren - Blue
Nails Inc - Piccadilly Arcade - Pink
Acrylic Paint - Black
Nail Envy
Seche Vite Top Coat

30 September 7/7 - Expressing Myself!

By now my ring and middle nails are in an awful state on both hands.  One starts getting better and another starts peeling, sort that out and oh no another nail breaks.  Ugghhh, I really don't know what is happening, I am really sad.  So, when when my nails make me sad or I feel sad, I like to wear dark vampy colours.  This is from the Texas collection and boy it made me feel better.  Sorry for bad photos and ooh dear bad cuticles still.
Items used:
OPI - Don't Get In The Expresso Lane - Dark Vampy brown
Nail Envy
Seche Vite Top Coat

26 September 6/7 - Purple Gradient

Purple gradient on short nails as worn on 26 September.  Sorry about lack of clean up and oh noooo, the cuticles look dreadful! Again the colours I just can't remember! Note to self, "...take photo of the lacquer/s used."

24 September 5/7 - Blue Splatter Nails

My right hand nails are now also peeling and breaking, but I had to share this manicure with you.  Blue base and then with a toothbruch I splattered on a paler blue acrylic paint and then splattered on some orange. Looked more effective IRL.
Items Used:
LA Girl - Alkaline Blue
Acrylic Paint - blue and orange
Nail Envy
Seche Vite Top Coat

14 September 3/7 - Dark Fatal Affair!

3rd of my September '12 nails.  This colour was very fitting, you may/may not notice this is my right hand in the photos!  My left was not doing so well, well my nails anyway.  As I said in my previous post my nails starting taking a battering and I had to cut and file them back drastically!
Items Used:
Nail Envy
Seche Vite Top Coat
Misa - Fatal Affair

8 September 2/7 - Leopard Print

Manicure as worn on the 8th of September, again it was so long ago, I have filed away the lacquer used and I can't remember which one it is! :(  When my nails were still in good shape and health, you will see in the next few catch up posts my nails deteriorating, lots of splits, breaks and peelings.
As always I use Nail Envy as a base and Seche Vite as a top coat.

4 September 1/7 - Pink Diagonal French

Another diagonal french manicure inspired by Robin Moses as before.  I wore this for my cousins wedding 1st September (hence the slight tip wear).  I sponged on some glitter on the top half of the nail before painting the diagonal french for some bling effect.
Items Used:
China Glaze - (sorry can't remember the shade - will add here if I find out!)
