My Complete GOT Polish Challenge - January-March 2014

I really enjoyed this challenge. Thanks to Crumpet's Nail Tarts for organising this. I am looking forward to the next one. Here we go again.

Born Pretty Store - Multi Shape and Colour Studs/Rhinestones

This is number three of the three reviews I have for the Born Pretty Store.

This review is for some lovely pastel studs/rhinestones, items number ID: 12408.  The wheel has 300 studs/rhinestones in three colours and 4 shapes and sizes, how great is that.  A huge amount of nail art possibilities with these beauties.

I choose to do a kind of skittlette manicure to show them off.  I choose polishes matching the three colours in the wheel.  I randomly sponged them on and applied the studs/rhinestones.

Without further a do, here is my manicure.

You can get these gorgeous studs/rhinestone at the Born Pretty Store and you can use my discount code PBL91 which will get you 10% off. So what are you waiting for, go to Born Pretty Store for loads more nail art goodies.
Items used:
OPI Nail Envy
Seche Vite top coat
OPI - What's with the Cattitude?
Sally Hansen - Ion
LA Girl - Can U Dig It?
China Glaze - Gothic Lolita and Make a Spectacle

Sponged Gradient and Water Decal Roses

I did these nails last Wednesday.  I thought I had plenty of time before my Zumba class. After all it is just sponging on some colour, apply decal, topcoat and off I go.  Wrong..... I used acrylic paints for the gradient, easy, then a coat of BM on my pinky, easy, applied the decals, quite simple and easy.  Then dabbed on the glitter on my pinky. While that was drying, I applied a coat of SV top coat to the rest of the manicure, checked my pinky and to my horror it was still wet!  I had 10 minutes to get to my class, and at that moment my mobile goes, and it's my friend asking where I was (she is waiting to walk up with me) Arrgghh, I apply the SV to my pinky, start the clean up of the acrylic paint on my skin with a damp toothbrush, rushing like mad I manage, just about. Wipe my hands and to my horror I have smudged my pinky polish right off :(   I don't think I applied SV to it.  With no time to spare I apply a plaster and off I go, meeting my friend and getting to class with a couple of minutes to spare!  Fixed the pinky on my return.

Not easy when there is somewhere you need to be.  Lesson learnt.  Here is the stressful manicure in question:

GOT Polish Challenge - Week 12 - Peach/Yellow - Gradient Cartoon Nails

Week 12 and the final one of this first GOT Golden Oldie Thursday Polish challenge over at Crumpet's Nail Tarts. This week the theme is Peach/Yellow.

I have a lot of orange polish but only a couple of peach colours, but they did not qualify as they are less than a year old.  So I opted to do a sponge gradient with yellow and an orange.  Both polishes are well over a year old. I got the yellow shade back in 2011 (see post here) worn only once. The orange one is even older worn only a few times, (here and here, oh and here).

I am sharing this manicure, but I was not at all happy with it.  It made my hands look awful and the nail shape was not made for the at all.  I hasten to say this came off within 24 hours and I also re-shaped my pointy nails.

KIKO Mini Haul

OK, so last Friday I was really tempted to get me some Nails Inc polish.  They had 3 different sets with 8 polishes at £20 each.  I nearly got two of the sets.  But then remembered that KIKO still had a bit of a sale on some of the shades.  I went to have a look and changed my mind about NI, instead I put 17 shades of KIKO in my basket and bought them instead.  They arrived yesterday, and I am very pleased.

Very well packaged.

The only downside with the polish bottle is that it only has a number on it and not the name of the shade!  So I have printed out some labels and stuck them on the bottles.
Right, here we go, what I got.....

337 Periwinkle Violet, 366 Rose Terracotta, 336 Electric Blue

380 Medium Grey, 384 Gentian Blue, 394 Olive Green,

386 Light Pastel Blue, 292 Light Grape, 334 Dark Violet

279 Yellow, 339 Cornflower, 245 Pearly Dark Ruby

348 Camouflage Green, 225 Bordeaux Red, 265 China Blue

311 Electric Pink, 329 Pale Gray
Can you tell I like blue.  My helmer is one whole drawer full of blue, I may have to start another.
Happy Weekend all. x

GOT Polish Challenge - Week 11 - Ruffle - Skittlette

Week 11 of the (Golden Oldie Thursday) GOT Polish challenge over at Crumpet's Nail Tarts. This week the theme is Ruffle.

This was a first for me, I have never done a ruffle manicure before.  I choose a pink theme for mine and all the polishes used are well over a year old, some about 7-8 years old.  I used OPI polishes for my ruffle and a Nails Inc for the pointer and thumb.  I can't remember names as as they got 'filed' straight away!

Indian Flag Skittlette for World Week

We are celebrating World Week at school this week.  Each class gets a different country, in Reception we have India.  It has been fab.  We have made flags, tasted poppadoms, danced, listened to music, made holi patterns, played instruments etc.

But I had to do my nails to celebrate, and this is what I have worn since yesterday.  The Indian Flag Skittlette.  For the two accent flag nails I did a sponge gradient and then drew on the wheel in the middle with acrylic paint.

Items Used:
OPI Nail Envy
Color Club - Twiggy - Green
LA Girl - Rock Star - Crowd Surfing - Flakie
Sally Hansen  - Ivory Skull - White
LA Girl - Flare - Flushed - Orange
Acrylic Paint - Blue

Hand Painted Rose Nail Art

I was given this beautiful nail polish set from one of the children in Reception Class over Christmas.  I have absolutely no idea of the make for this polish, it does not say anywhere on the packaging.

The little girl who gifted them to me commented/asked if I had worn them as yet.  I was sad to say "not yet", but promised her I would go home and do something with them in the evening.  This is what I cam up with.  I used all five polishes.  I painted the base colour using the palest shade.  Sponged on blobs of colour using the darker pinks and then using the pale shade again, painted in the roses.  I have to say I got my inspiration from a picture I saw, if you recognise this, thanks.

Born Pretty Store- Nail Sticker Review

This is number two of the three reviews I have for the Born Pretty Store.

This review is for some nail stickers, item ID: 11886.  There are several to choose from, I choose no. 12.  A lovely swirly pattern with flowers and tiny rhinestones.  You get 12 stickers, in different widths.

I am quite frugal, and used only one sticker for an accent nail.  I applied to my bare ring finger and I think the effect was really nice and elegant.  The stickers are easy to use.  You just peel them off the backing (cut to size if needed). Apply to the nail, stretching a little to get a nice tight fit.  Apply a top coat and voila, done. This lasted a good couple of days.  I had slight tip wear (I work in an Infant School so I am always washing my hands and lots of activities inside and outside the classroom).

This is my second lot of stickers from Born Pretty and I love them.  So easy and quick to use and so many different patterns to choose from.

You can get these nail stickers here and you can use my discount code PBL91 which will get you 10% off. So what are you waiting for, go to Born Pretty Store for loads more nail art goodies.

*These were sent to me for an honest review*

Another Nail Stud, Nail Decal/Sticker Haul

I got another surprise in the post today.  Yay :)

I ordered me some more nail goodies a few weeks back and they finally turned up today.

And some gifts with my order too.

Now I need a lot more time to be able to put these goodies to use.  Roll on Easter and end of term so that I can.
